Please find attached below the roadworks bulletin, detailing works and events that are due to start between 16^th – 30^th April 2025.

Just a reminder that this only includes works that are due to start between 16^th – 30^th April 2025 and longer term works that are still in progress will have been included on previous reports. Alternatively please refer to https://one.network/ which will include details on emergency roadworks.

Following on from the success with the Cambs_Traffic social media account on X (formally Twitter), our new pages for Facebook and Instagram that will show advance warnings of road closures and impactful works throughout the county, educational posts about Highways & Transport and any Highways & Transport information moving forward.

Willingham Parish Council have been advised that subject to pending permits the work on the 20mph zone in Willingham should begin on 17th April. The work is expected to take approximately 5 days.

Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to stop any pedestrian from proceeding along Footpath between Church Street and Green Street, Willingham as lies between Green Street and Church Street.

Access will be maintained to properties affected by this order. The alternative route for pedestrians will be as signed.

The Order is made to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 9 May 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 8 November 2025 whichever is the earlier.

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs to 18:00hrs 9 May to 14 May 2025.

Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Priest Lane & Iram Drove, Willingham & Cow Lane, Rampton as lies between Iram Drove and Rockmill End.

Access will be maintained to properties affected by this order.
The alternative route for vehicles is via High Street, Rampton; Rampton Road C186, Willingham; Rampton Road; Rampton End; Green Street; and vice versa .
The Order is made to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 12 May 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 11 November 2026 whichever is the earlier.

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs 12 May to 16 May 2025.

The Traffic Management Centre (TMC) monitors the county’s road network and reports any variations to the traffic flow, we refer to these as ‘incidents’. They use the term ‘incident’ to describe something that has happened on the County’s road network which has an impact (of varying degrees) on usual traffic flows. This could include, for example, a Road Traffic Collision, a burst water main or temporary traffic lights for road works.

They are using a new web-based system to log and display these incidents in both map and report formats.

The system is still a work in progress and has been used live since August 2022, so anything pre-August has been ported over from our old log which is why there might not be as much detail in the information.

The TMC responded to 92 incidents on the road network throughout Cambridgeshire in March covering 21 weekdays. This figure is slightly higher to that of what is reported in March 2024 and a decrease to that of Februarys.

The @Cambs_Traffic X account is their quickest engagement tool with the public and the interaction gives a good indication of how effective the messages are getting out to people.

Throughout January they gained 51 new followers however they lost some making the number lower than that of February’s. Our profile views increased throughout March to that of Februarys with our post impressions and posts decreasing.
