Welcome to 2025!
Wishing you a prosperous and joyful New Year, from all of us at Planning Portal and TerraQuest. Here’s to a year of exciting opportunities and success!

As we know, last year marked a pivotal shift for the built environment, with the new Labour government introducing bold reforms through the updated National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF). Key changes, such as the greybelt initiative and the return of mandatory housing targets, aim to tackle the UK’s housing challenges—long driven by a shortage of suitable land and shifting economic and political pressures. With an ambitious target of 1.5 million homes over five years, 2025 offers fresh opportunities for developers.

Our recent litepaper, Plotting the Future, explores these initiatives and their impact on land availability.
