Roadworks and Events in and around Willingham 10th October 2019 onwards

Welcome to October’s Highway Events Diary which highlights all known events that will have an impact or take place upon the public highway. The diary features events across Cambridgeshire and you are able to sort and filter the diary to show events in your immediate area by using the down arrow in the title bar.

October’s Highlights

12th – 17th, St.Ives Michaelmas Fair. The historic annual fair returns to St.Ives town centre, as it has done for the last 800 years. The tradition of throwing new pennies to the children continues during the opening ceremony. Road closures and restrictions will be in place to include the setting up, and dismantling of the fair.

20th, Cambridge Town and Gown . Returning for its 8th year, the popular 10k run takes on an orange theme raising money for Muscular Dystrophy UK. Road closures will be in place for the event, so please bear this in mind if you plan on visiting Cambridge.

14th – 17th , Anglian Ruskin University Graduations, Cambridge. Intermittent, temporary road closures will be in place in the City centre due to mass crowd movements during the graduation ceremonies.

Looking ahead:

5th November, Cambridge bonfire and fireworks. The popular event returns offering a funfair, food stall, fireworks and bonfire festivities. Although the event is held for one day / evening with road closures, it is worth noting that footpath closures will be in place between 31st October and 7th November for the setting up and dismantling of the equipment.

11th November, Remembrance parades and services will be taking place across the County so please expect road closures to be in place during this time.


8th March, Cambridge Half Marathon. The popular running event returns, taking in the scenery of central Cambridge. Road closures will be in place for the event, so please bear this in mind if you are planning on visiting Cambridge.

3rd May, Sawston Fun Run returns following its best attended run last year. The 2020 Fun Run will be celebrating the VE Day anniversary, and will be raising money for charity. Road closures and restrictions will be in place throughout the event.

23rd & 24th May, Duxford Air Festival returns for the Battle of Britain. With the event being so popular, the routes around the event location will be busier than normal.

6th & 7th June, The Tour ofCambridgeshire returns meaning numerous road closures and restrictions along the route. For more information please visit:
