We have been advised that the High Street in Cottenham will be closed from the 15th November for four weeks for sewerage repair works to be carried out. The closure will be from the junction of the High Street and Lambs Lane through to Broad Lane Roundabout.

Please find attached the highway events diary for November. The diary shows all known events and their associated highway restrictions.

Upcoming Highlights

• 5^th and 6^th November – Large fireworks displays taking place on the 5^th in Godmanchester and Kimbolton; and on the 6^th in Yaxley, Hemingford and Warboys.
• Sunday 14^th November – Remembrance Sunday. Road closures will be in place county wide with the 2021 Remembrance TTRO viewable at Highway events – Cambridgeshire County Council

There will be an additional closure of the B1514 Brampton Road this Saturday, 30 October 8am to 5pm, between the RingGo car park and Edison Bell Way.

A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire: major improvements

We are currently carrying out finishing works for which we need to close lanes or carriageways on the A1, A14 and some local roads at times, usually overnight
between 9pm and 6am, unless otherwise stated. A clearly signed diversion route will always be in place for closures.
For this week, the planned closures are:
Full closures
Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 (two nights)
• A14 eastbound Milton junction 33 exit slip
Vehicles will be diverted to continue on the A14 eastbound to Fen Ditton
junction 34, exit and return on the westbound carriageway for access to the
Milton junction

For this week, the planned closures are:
Full closures
Saturday 23 8am to 5pm
• B1514 Brampton Road between the RingGo car park and Edison Bell Way
Vehicles on the Huntingdon town centre side will be diverted onto the ring
road, St Peters Road to A141 west to Brampton / Brampton Racecourse
junction and into Brampton via B1514.
Vehicles on the Brampton side of the closure will follow this diversion in
reverse.
Pedestrian and cyclist access will remain via the northern footpath.

There are no planned road closures for week commencing 13th September 2021 in relation to the Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme.

We have been notified that neighbouring villages have experienced a spate of drain covers thefts. Please be vigilant as these thefts leave road users and pedestrians at risk of injury.

Last month the Constabulary created a new team dedicated to cracking down on speeding drivers across the county’s cities, towns, villages and rural roads. Officers from the Special Constabulary including myself, Special Inspector Stephen Mudie, Special Sergeant Tom Howard and a band of Special Constables form the southern ‘Neighbourhood Safer Speed Team’. They volunteer their time responding to concerns from residents around speeding and anti-social driving. The team also support local Community Speedwatch groups with enforcement and education. Today (2 September) the team concentrated their efforts in Great Shelford, Fulbourn, Balsham, Hardwick and Milton Road. We issued six tickets for speeding, including one for travelling 59mph in a 40mph in Hardwick. We also issued two tickets for no seatbelts. In addition, we gave words of advice to multiple drivers around speeding and spoke to riders about the laws around e-scooters. A lorry driver was reported for dangerous driving after he was seen on the A14 holding paperwork with one hand and entering a destination on his sat nav with the other.
